We were lucky enough to select “Sam” Samarakoon from an internet search to be our chauffeur/guide for our tour of the beautiful island of Sri Lanka from 26 January this year to 10 February.

Sam is 100% reliable.  He arranged our hotel accommodation at very competitive rates, changed arrangements during the tour when we wanted to change itinerary or hotel without any additional charge.  He has a great knowledge of all the premier sightseeing areas of Sri Lanka and can tailor itineraries to suit the energy and whims of his customers.

As a driver he is very competent and always careful, something which is very necessary to cope with the driving conditions and hazards in his country.  His honesty, helpfulness and integrity are without question.

We count “Sam” as one of our many friends around the world and hope that we can return his hospitality should he ever visit UK.

He is reliable, honest and great fun to be with and went out of his way to make our trip a huge success. Sam's car is very comfortable and his driving impeccable, no doubt in part due to his time spent as traffic cop in Colombo. All of the hotels that Sam arranged were great and everything was organized perfectly. Thank you so much for the two weeks we had with you in Sri Lanka you were great and we certainly would have not hesitation in recommending you.  Your choice of accommodation except for Negombo was excellent on our last night we stayed at the Silver Sands which was nice. Your driving was safe and your patience with us we really appreciated.  We had a fantastic holiday in Sri Lanka, your country is beautiful and has some much to offer and at no time did we feel unsafe.  Our highlights would have to be Sigriya Rock, ancient cities, the tooth relic in Kandy, The elephant safari, the tea plantations and you taking us around some of the expensive hotels, Galle inside the walls, and our favourite beach was Unawatuna.

Our tour with you was very memorable. We really appreciated your knowledgeable commentary. The hotels you chose were just perfect for us. But the best part of the trip was your flexibility, the way you were able to change everything to suit our likes and dislikes. We have already recommended you to several of our colleagues and they have been as delighted with their tours as we were with ours.

My wife and I toured Sri Lanka, with Sam Samarakoon, for 10 days in March 2006. Sam made all of our hotel reservations which were exactly as requested. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour and Sam's company. He was always on time and nothing was any trouble to him. He takes great pride in looking after his guests and ensuring they enjoy their stay in Sri Lanka. We unhesitatingly recommend him.

We spend with Sam 11 beautiful days on tour around Sri Lanka. During the tour Sam and our son (4 years) become best friend and together they smile a lot. We will definetly recomend Sam to all our frends who will visit Sri Lanka in the future, expecialy those with small kids :-)

We had a fantastic time in Sri Lanka from Dec 6th-Dec 18th, 2005. Initially, I was somewhat apprehensive about hiring a car and driver to tag along all over. Sam alleviated all these fears. He was both an excellent guide and driver always going above and beyond when it came to anything we needed, and giving us our independance when we needed it. He also managed to neotiate lower prices in many situations where we were stymied by the language. I would definitely recommend him to anyone considering a car and driver.We will definitely return again. I was touched by the hospitality of everyone we encountered. We had a wonderful time in Sri Lanka and meeting Sam. He made it possible to for us to see many things within our budget and with no stress at all. A totally unplanned (by us) tour of a truly beautiful country. Sam was our taxi driver from the airport to Colombo & after an hours journey we felt happy to let him arrange the rest of our two-and-a-half week stay in Sri Lanka! We travelled in comfort, stayed in hidden gems of guesthouses, saw more than we ever would have achieved on our own and arrived home relaxed and so entranced by Sri Lanka that everyone thought we were on commission to the Tourist Board !! Sam is a real guide, knows the places to go, to eat, what to see. Excellent negociator for good hotel prices as well which is an advantage. We had a lovely time during around for 5 days with Sam - Best Drive on the Island.

I had a really fun time in Sri Lanka. There are so many beautiful places especially, Kandy is mervelous!. I am very happy to travel with sam. He's so kind guy. Ofcorse his guide help me so much. We visited Srilanka in june,me and 3 weman more. the clever thing that we did was taking Sam as a guide.He knows evry thing that interest a turist,from hiastory till shopping....and he does evry thing with smile. He saved us much moeny by knowing hotels and restaurants. We recommand from all our heart for SAM AS A GUIDE.
